Sabastine was born into the Anyia family in Wula town, Boki LGA, Cross River State. He went through his primary education at St. John’s Wula and secondary education at Pope John Paul De II Junior Seminary Ogoja and completed at Buentsebe secondary school Wula, where he was the senior prefect.

He studied law at the University of Maiduguri. He was called to Bar in 2003, and has been practicing law since then.

It is important to note that, Sabastine Anyia was once elected PRO, Young Lawyers Chairman, Financial Secretary, Secretary and finally Chairman. All in NBA Aguata branch where he has been practicing his beautiful profession.

In his tenure as the chairman of Aguata branch, he built Aguata Bar Center, published Aguata maiden Journal, eradicated fake lawyers, stopped the use of NBA stickers by non lawyers, amongst many other achievements.

He was also once the chairman of the chairmen in Anambra State NBA branches. During his tenure he organized and held the first ever bar and bench forum through out the state to create a good relationship between the Bar and Bench. He introduced football competition among the 8 branches of NBA in Anambra state to give lawyers the forum to exercise themselves and for conviviality.

Bar. Anyia’s ability to harken to the needs and cries of the downthroden has earned him a place in people’s hearts, with many records of such achievements to his name.

His decision to run for the office of welfare secretary of NBA is because of his spirit of good governance, human development and people inclusiveness. He is confident that his experiences in leadership and understanding of the yearnings of the members of NBA makes him the choice candidate for the welfare secretary position.

With Sebastine Anyia in the race for welfare secretary, NBA is once again presented with a quality option. A man who is emphatic, tested and trusted, who has for the past decade played a critical role in the growth and development of NBA, particularly at the Branch and State level where he practices. This shows that he will lead NBA welfare with love, understanding and care.

Let us all rally around him and make this a reality.

As Bar. Sabastine Anyia declares for NBA welfare(when the ban is lifted), History Beckons.
