In response to concerns about the safety and well-being of judges and other employees, the Rivers State Judiciary has embarked on a comprehensive training program for drivers, orderlies, and protocol officers assigned to judicial officers.

Justice Simeon Chibuzor-Amadi, the Chief Judge of the State, emphasized that this training for judiciary staff would bolster the expeditious delivery of justice and enhance the effective implementation of the rule of law within the national judiciary system.

Justice Chibuzor-Amadi reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing ongoing training and skill development for judicial personnel in the State, a fundamental aspect of his administration’s strategy to ensure efficient and effective judiciary service delivery.

Speaking in Port Harcourt, he inaugurated a two-day workshop for auxiliary judiciary staff, including drivers, orderlies, and protocol officers, centered around the theme “Enhancing the Performance of Judiciary Workers for Effectiveness and Efficiency.”

Justice Tomunoigoni Susan-Orji, representing Justice Chibuzor-Amadi, characterized drivers, orderlies, and protocol officers as indispensable individuals playing pivotal roles in the administration of justice. She explained that the workshop’s objective is to optimize effectiveness and safety within the judiciary system.

“Our lives are entrusted to their care, especially the drivers who transport us. While our reliance is ultimately on God, the orderlies and protocol officers are intermediaries between God’s providence and their roles. This training to enhance performance and efficiency is therefore crucial and sensible,” she stated.

The Administrator of Justice Mary Odili Judicial Institute, Port Harcourt, Justice Anwuri Ken-Chikwere, represented by Loretta Okezie Esq, highlighted the significance of drivers, orderlies, and protocol officers in the judicial service delivery process. She anticipated that the training would culminate in improved behavior and heightened efficiency in their job performances after the two-day session.
