Muhammad Bello Shehu, a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Fagge Federal Constituency on Tuesday disbursed the sum of N1,750,000 to seven indigenous graduates of law, who have secured admission into Nigerian Law School.

Each of the beneficiaries received the sum of N250,000 from the lawmaker, popularly known as MB Shehu in an event, held in the Fagge Local Government area on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, Mr Shehu said he decided to dole out the money to the newly admitted law students in order to support them undergo the programme without facing any financial difficulties that could lead to failure.
According to him, the money would assist the beneficiaries to concentrate on their study in order to complete the one-year legal study successfully.
He said he initially decided to give them N200,000 each, but considering the economic situation, he had to increase the amount to N250,000 to enable them to undergo the study smoothly.
Mr Shehu also charged the beneficiaries to study and pray hard in order to finish the programme once without failing in examination which could cause them to register again.
He said he had spent over N50 million for education support to his constituents, adding that the scholarship would be continuous.
“Let me also urge you to be honest when you graduate and start practising. You should consider the legal practice as an opportunity to serve humanity.
“Don’t also forget your younger ones and even elder ones. Help them in whatever way you feel you can.
“We have decided to give you N200,000 but I later increased it to N250,000 because I know how the situation is.
“You should study hard, read hard and be prayerful. If you graduate and start practising, don’t forget your people, don’t forget your constituency.
“Sometimes you would come down to help even us. I pray for you to succeed,” he said.
All the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture.
According to them, the lawmaker’s gestures had not been limited to his constituency, but extended to other areas, owing to his commitment to the development of education.
