The Employment and Labour Lawyers Association of Nigeria (ELLAN), the African Labour Law Society (ALLS) and the International Lawyers Assisting Workers (ILAW) invite you to the International Labour Standards Webinar Series.

The objective of the webinar series which started in January 2024 and is now in its third session is to increase the level of awareness of the international legal framework for establishing international labour standards with specific focus on the ILO. At the end of the webinar series, it is expected that the participants would:

• Have a basic understanding about the international legal framework for establishing international labour standards

• Have a good understanding of the fundamental labour conventions and

• Have a good understanding about the application and enforcement of the international labour standards

• Become more familiar about the organs of the ILO
The third session of the webinar series examines the ILO Conventions C087 – Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise Convention, 1948 (No. 87) and C098 – Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining Convention, 1949 (No. 98).

The webinar will be moderated by Jacqueline Wamai, the International Lawyers Assisting Workers Network (ILAW) regional director for sub Saharan Africa regional director for sub Saharan Africa and features a high – powered panel including:

• Mr. JeffreyVogt, Rule of Law Director,Solidarity Center, Co-Founder, International Lawyers Assisting Workers (ILAW) and Member, ILO Committte of Experets on Freedom of Association

• Mr. Wale Smatt Oyerinde, Director General, Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) and

• Comrade Uche Ekwe, Head of International Department , Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)
