Anita Isama, the wife of Paul ‘Rudeboy’ Okoye, has allegedly filed a petition to divorce the Afrobeats singer.

In a partly redacted court document that surfaced and went viral on social media platforms on Friday, Anita requested the dissolution of their union.

According to the now-viral document, the entrepreneur cited “irreconcilable difference” as her reason, asking her man to challenge it if he feels disgruntled.

“A petition has been presented to the above-named court by Anita Tonye Okoye instituting proceedings for a decree of dissolution of marriage. A sealed copy is delivered to you with the notice,” the court document partly read.

“If you intend to consult a solicitor in connection with the proceedings, you should take to him all the documents delivered to you.

“If you desire to deny any fact(s) alleged in the petition, to allege any additional facts for the consideration of the court, to submit to the court that it should dismiss any of the proceedings instituted by the petitioner.

“…to make any submission to the court, you should file an answer to the petition.

“If you wish to institute proceedings for dissolution of marriage, nullity of marriage, judicial separation, or restitution of conjugal rights, you may do so in an answer to the petition filed by you.

“If you institute proceedings for dissolution of marriage on the ground that the petitioner committed adultery…”

However, yet to independently confirm the development. Both parties are also yet to address the matter and have not been reachable — as of the time of this report.

Anita and Okoye met in 2004 during his studies at the University of Abuja. In 2013, their son Andre was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. The couple also had a set of twins who were delivered in Atlanta, US.

Paul is an ex-member of Psquare, the now-defunct music group he once shared with Peter Okoye, his twin brother.

In 2016, rumours had first circulated that the duo had disbanded over a disagreement on the role of Jude Okoye, their older brother-cum-manager. The claims would later gain credence in September 2017 after they confirmed it.

In April 2021, Anita sparked divorce rumours when it was reported that she relocated with their three children – Andre, Nadia and Nathan, to the United States of America.
