While the Zenith Bank has defiantly continued to disobey the Order of the court in a suit between Prince Eze Madumere and Governor Hope Uzodimma, Imo State Government and Zenith Bank Plc to honour the Order Absolute against Garnishee nisi granted by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, the Financial Institution in favour Prince Eze Madumere.

The officials of the Court were at the premises of the bank on Friday to carry out their legitimate duties when they were attacked like common criminals.

They were at the Bank to replace seals, padlocks and chains flagrantly destroyed by the Bank’s officials in collusion with Government agents, only to be attacked by strange looking armed men led by Governor Hope Uzodimma’s aide, Chinasa Nwaneri.

They were later abducted with their vehicle to an undisclosed destination.

The first episode of violence took place at the Premises of Zenith Bank, Bank Road, Owerri, Imo State, where four officials of the Court are still missing even as their vehicle is yet to be found.

This was followed by another violation at the Bank’s branch along Wetheral Road, Owerri, where the seals and other instruments of execution of Court Order were destroyed even as ribbons littered the ground.

As at the time of this report, the whereabout of the personnel of National Industrial Court is unknown.

Madumere had approached Industrial Court to reclaim his benefits from Imo State Government in 2019 after he survived impeachment onslaught in September, 2018.

After legal battle, he won his case against the government. After several months of hide and sick with the government, through his lawyers, he applied for Order Absolute against the Judgment Debtor and the custodian of its funds.

Court also granted the parties over eight months to settle out of court but this did not happen because Imo government through its agent had boasted they are in charge of the Courts and the Judges and paid lip service to the wise counsel of the Court.

Since not suit is designed to last forever, the Court in its wisdom after, Court granted Madumere’s prayers on May 27, 2022 and still gave government some days of grace to settle.

Another drama was how Zenith’s representative lied on oath, which later revealed the irresponsibility of the Institution and government agents involved in the matter.

Meanwhile, sealing ribbons with which the Industrial Court used were seen littered the ground.
