A magistrates’ court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, on Monday, remanded two siblings, Adeniyi Adesoye (27), Sunday Adesoye (24), and one Opelusi Dolapo (27), for stealing an ATM card and withdrawing N444,000 unlawfully.

The defendants were arraigned on seven count-charge bordering on conspiracy to commit felony, theft and unlawful possession of ATM.

Police prosecutor Soyemi Bose accused the defendants of conspiring to steal two ATM cards and withdraw a sum of N444,000 on August 9 at about 7 pm, at Guaranty Trust Bank Stadium Area, Osogbo.

They were accused of withdrawing the cash sum of N241,000 from Omotayo Janet’s GTB Account NO. 0035640137 without her consent.

The prosecutor further alleged that the defendants withdrew a sun of N203,000 from one Wahab Saheed’s GTB Account NO. 0591738437 without his consent.

According to the prosecution, the defendants committed the alleged crimes in contravention of sections 516, 428, 215, 422, 383(1), and 422 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the allegations.

The presiding Magistrate, Olusegun Ayilara, ordered that the accused persons be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre and directed counsel to the defendant, Nagite Okobie, to file a formal application for the bail of his client.

The case was subsequently adjourned to August 24 for mention.
