*Justices Highlight The Need For Hardwork, Diligence And Mentorship

Obra Legal Interns through the obra foundation paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Chief Judge of Enugu State, Honorable Justice A. R. Ozoemena and some other Honorable Judges of the Enugu State High court on the 13th of July, 2022. At the visit, a Partner in Obra Legal Nnezi Ivenso, gave the Justices a highlight of the objectives of the Internship and Mentorship Programme.

The learned Chief judge speaking emphasized on the fact that the interns were privileged. According to the Chief Justice, to have the opportunity of being mentored by seasoned Lawyers in Obra legal like Chief Offiah, SAN, Ikechukwu Onuoma Esq and other in the firm.

He also counted as an advantageous to the interns access to be in such an environment where they have people who they can look up to as role models in the legal profession. He also admonished that the interns should not take such an opportunity for granted as they might not know where such exposure might prove useful in the future.

The Chief Justice had an experience of nostalgia, and went on to narrate his journey to the bench and also stated that one of the key things he intends to bring to his current administration is a sense of collectiveness among fellow judges both in decision making and otherwise.

The other Judges present were on. Justice A. O. Anidi, Hon. Justice A. A. Nwobodo, and Hon. Justice R. O. Odugu, who all emphasized the need for Hard Work, diligence, humility as well as Mentorship.

Hon Justice A.A Nwobodo one of the most respected Judge of the Enugu State Judiciary recounted how he too benefited from mentorship in his university days as the president of the Law Students Association.

The interns went on to ask what advice the learned justices would give to their younger self. Answering this question, Hon. Justice Odugu stated that it would be to utilize the time he had and put in more work as there is no room for laziness if you want to succeed in the legal profession.

Appreciating the Chief Judge, and the other Judges of the Enugu State High Court, Chief (Mrs) A. J Offiah SAN, Ikechukwu Onuoma Esq and Nnezi Ivenso, partners of Obra Legal thanked the Chief Judge for this opportunity and pledged to continue to promote the legal profession.
