Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, Gabrielle Henry, was taken to the hospital after a dramatic fall off the stage during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown competition in Bangkok, Thailand.

The incident occurred on November 19 as Henry, 28, walked the runway in a glittering orange gown with a matching cape. After striking a pose for the judges, she moved toward the left side of the stage and slipped, tumbling completely off the platform. Video of the moment has since circulated widely online, showing officials rushing to her aid and lifting her onto a stretcher for emergency care.

Miss Universe owner Raul Rocha confirmed in a statement that he visited Henry at the hospital shortly after midnight.

“I have just left the hospital where she is being treated. I was there with her family and thankfully, there are no broken bones and she is under good care,” Rocha said. “She will remain under observation for the rest of the night. Our prayers go out for her prompt recovery.”

The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization said Henry was transported to Paolo Rangsit Hospital near Bangkok. In a statement, the group confirmed that she is not believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

“Medical professionals are attending to her care and have advised that she is not suffering from any life-threatening injuries. They continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery,” the organization said. “We kindly ask everyone to lift her in prayer and send positive thoughts as she receives the necessary medical care.”

The Miss Universe Organization also released an update, echoing the call for support and positivity as Henry continues treatment.

Henry, an ophthalmologist, is the founder of the See Me Foundation, a charity that supports visually impaired people in Jamaica. She had been preparing for the final Miss Universe coronation event scheduled for November 21, where contestants from 130 countries will compete for the crown.

It remains unclear whether she will be able to participate in the finals as medical assessments continue.
