Nigerian-born Moro Ojomo has made history, playing a crucial role in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025.

The win, which secured the Eagles’ fifth NFL title, also avenged their previous Super Bowl LVII loss to the Chiefs. Ojomo, a defensive force, recorded key tackles that helped shut down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ high-powered offense for nearly three quarters.

Ojomo’s journey from Lagos to NFL stardom is one of perseverance. Moving to the U.S. at age seven, he worked his way up from being an overlooked high school player to earning a spot with the Eagles as a seventh-round draft pick in 2023.

Despite a slow rookie season, he emerged in 2024 as a key player, making his first NFL sack in a playoff game against the Rams.
