Wife of Professor Cyril Ndifon, the suspended and now remanded Head of the Law Department at the University of Calabar, UNICAL, Rita Ndifon has said she is not ashamed to be called his wife.

Rita, who has just been confirmed a Professor by the same University, spoke yesterday during an appreciation service, where she dedicated her success and confirmation as a Prof to her beloved husband.
The new Professor of Education expressed joy that through trials and turbulents, she never allowed any challenges to stop her hard work, saying her love for her husband even after 28 years, remains intact despite allegations of sexual harassment of students.

âIf you love your husband, stand firm, challenges will come, it was a coincidence that we happened to celebrate our 28th marriage anniversary.
âI feel so happy and fulfilled because this is what I have always wanted and God has helped me to achieve it.
âMy promotion to Professorship was just recently announced amid the challenges my family is facing.
âWhat it takes to be a professor is not lobbying. I didnât take any shortcuts. It was only God.
I have never allowed any challenge to weigh me down. If I had allowed the challenges that confronted us, I wouldnât be here celebrating.â
For young girls aspiring to become professors, Mrs. Ndifon recommended hard work and reliance on God as the secrets towards actualising their dreams, saying, âFollow whatever criteria set for you to follow and I tell you becoming a professor is a done deal.
âTo young women, I charge you to be steadfast and firm when trying times hit your marriage. Love your husbands, irrespective of the storm of life that comes visiting your marriage.
âStorm may not be there during the early part of marriage, but as you move along, it may come hitting your marriage. What makes the marriage unbreakable is for you to stand firm, love him and move on,â she said.
She said that with God everything is possible, adding: âGod has been my source of strength.â
Professor Ndifon also disclosed that God never allowed any challenge to weigh her down.
Rev. Fr. Richard Diara, in his sermon, urged young girls nursing ambition to rise to the zenith to emulate Prof. Ndifonâs virtues by working hard to actualise their dreams.
