On the purpose of the bill, to give insight as to what members input should relate to, Mr. Lawal stated thus: “The bill is designed to ensure data security, that is, the fair and proper use of data while allowing Nigeria to leverage the benefits of technology for socio-economic growth.” He further noted that this bill is therefore timely and useful as a key catalyst to our technological advancement as a Nation.

In lieu of this, the NBA is calling for contributions/input which is expected to be in the form of memoranda, proposals, and position papers from individual members, sections and fora of the NBA in respect of the draft bill.

The notice established that all memoranda, position papers and/or proposals are expected to be forwarded to ayodeji.oni@nigerianbar.org.ng on or before Wednesday, 12th October 2022 by 11:59pm WAT which would then be aggregated and transmitted as the NBA’s position to the NDPB.

For further enquiries, members should contact Ayodeji on 08033452825 or Oludayo on 0806137690.
