On Thursday, September 12th, 2024, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, inaugurated the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association Women’s Forum (NBAWF).

The newly appointed members are expected to make significant contributions toward advancing gender equality, promoting professional development, and empowering women within the legal profession.

The NBAWF’s leadership consists of Huwaila Mohammed as Chairperson, Delayo Oriekun as Alternate Chairperson, Ugwochi Agala as Secretary, Cecelia Ngozi Onyia as Treasurer, Sadiya Sule as Publicity Secretary, and Dr. Rabi Abdulahi, Bisi Fatoki, Bukola Ikujuni, Njideka U. Uju, Rabiat A. Liman, Freda Anyia, and Esther Jimoh as members.

The Forum will engage in activities such as seminars, workshops, and mentorship initiatives to create leadership and growth opportunities for women in the legal field.

NBA President Mazi Afam Osigwe expressed confidence in the newly appointed members’ ability to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all women lawyers, aligning with the broader vision of the NBA on matters of gender equality, ethics, and strengthening the role of women in law.
