The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, has paid glowing tribute to late Justice Chima Centus Nweze at his valedictory court session today at the Supreme Court.

Justice Nweze, who died recently, served at the Supreme Court bench for several years until his demise.

While delivering a speech on behalf of the NBA, Maikyau described the late Justice as “one of the very outstanding personalities that ever graced our halls of justice.”

He highlighted Justice Nweze’s intellectual prowess, saying he made “very significant contributions to the growth of our jurisprudence and helped extend the frontiers of our legal landscape.”

Maikyau noted that Justice Nweze will be remembered for his erudition, painstaking approach, and dedication to justice. He was brilliant, amiable, humane, godly, and ethical, Maikyau added.

The NBA President condoled with the late Justice’s wife, Hon. Justice Ugonne Jacinta Nweze, their children and the people of Enugu State.

He prayed for God’s comfort upon the family and described Justice Nweze’s demise as a great loss to the judiciary and legal profession in Nigeria.

The valedictory court session was held at the Supreme Court complex in Abuja and attended by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, other Supreme Court Justices and senior lawyers.
