The NBA President-elect, Mr. Olumide Akpata has disclaimed the messages going around on media that he authorized any person to collect Supreme Court enrollment number and account details of his supporters.

This is contained in a statement issued by him which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer.

“My attention has just been drawn to a message making the rounds on WhatsApp requesting “Olumide Akpata’s supporters” to send their Supreme Court Enrolment Numbers and bank account details to some unknown number for the purpose of receiving “palliatives”.”

However, he stated that the message is fake and do not emanate from him and credited same to ‘mischief makers.’

“In this era of fake news, it should be obvious to the discerning that the said message did not emanate, and could not have emanated, from me or anyone associated with me. It is the handiwork of mischief makers.” He said.

Meanwhile, he charged all Lawyers to be wary and urged them not to disclose their personal details to third parties.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I hereby denounce this message and urge all lawyers to remain vigilant and not to share their sensitive details with any third party who purports to act either in my name or in the name of any other NBA Presidential aspirants, who are all gentlemen and for whom I have the utmost respect.” He concluded.
