In his message to his supporters, he wrote
To all my supporters:
The information coming in has shown that our dear Branch has made a choice. Incidentally, that choice isn’t us.
I thank you all for being there and supporting me until this moment. The heartwarming emotional and Financial support was overwhelming.
My perspective of life has been broadened by this experience. The electioneering campaign has been a process of learning and relearning.
The three candidates brought their manifestos to the table and the Branch has chosen where they want to go. We should, without hesitation, fall in line and move in the direction the Branch has chosen.
I understand how you feel at this time. I honestly do. Mine is double jeopardy at the moment as some of you already know. Some of you ran faster than me in this project to make sure that our people buy what we have to offer.
However it is, may we take this in the spirit of sportsmanship. I very much understand that in healing from the loss of this contest, the climb might be steep but I can assure you, it will be momentary if we keep in mind that it was a bid to serve.
We worked hard to sell our intentions and the branch has made a choice that isn’t ours. The good news is that we opted for something good too. Thank you very much. I appreciate everything.
May I use this opportunity to congratulate Ikechukwu Uwanna, the Chairman-elect of our Branch. I wish you all the best as you take leadership of our great branch in the coming days. You can be rest assured of our unalloyed support.
