The past few months have seen several polls intended to show which presidential candidate in the upcoming National Elections of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is the most popular.

These polls, like all pre-election polls, tend to give an idea of each candidate’s standing with, and acceptability by, the electorate.

In the first poll, which was conducted on Facebook, in a group known as Nigerian Bar Association Members, our Dr. Babatunde Ajibade, SAN came second. This poll took place shortly after Dr Ajibade, SAN had disclosed his intention to run for the presidency of the Bar.

Since then, no fewer than four other polls have been conducted on Facebook and Twitter. The latest of these polls conducted on Twitter ended on 23 June 2020. In each of these polls, Dr. Babatunde Ajibade, SAN took the first position. The outcome of each of these four polls has consistently shown Dr Ajibade’s huge support base and acceptability among Nigerian lawyers.

However, as we enter the last weeks before the election, it is important that we focus our attention and channel all our energies towards the main election. To this end, we advise all supporters of Dr Ajibade, SAN that Dr Ajibade SAN will no longer be participating in any poll in the time being, and until a contrary indication is made.

We thank all the supporters of Dr Ajibade SAN for the excellent work they are doing and urge them to so continue until the very end.

Let’s do better with Dr Ajibade SAN.
