Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is considering legal action against his club Napoli after a mocking video was posted and then deleted from the club’s official TikTok page.

In a statement on Tuesday, Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda said the video targeting his client was “unacceptable” and has caused “very serious damage.”

Calenda said the media trials and fake news Osimhen has suffered recently coupled with the mocking video warrants legal recourse to protect the player.

The controversial video came amid an ongoing investigation into Napoli’s president over suspected false accounting in Osimhen’s €71.2 million transfer from Lille in 2020.

Italian authorities suspect player wages were inflated in the deal to boost capital gains. Osimhen moved to Napoli along with four Lille players valued at €20.1 million.

Napoli was previously cleared of false accounting allegations regarding Osimhen’s transfer in a sporting trial last April.

But the latest mocking video seen as demeaning to Osimhen has drawn the ire of his agent, who says they reserve the right to sue Napoli and take any action necessary to protect the Nigerian international.

Osimhen has endured recent trials in the media and growing transfer speculation. The TikTok video appears to have provoked his camp to consider FIRM LEGAL ACTION AGAINST NAPOLI FOR DAMAGING THE STRIKER’S REPUTATION.
