Mrs Joyce Oduah – A Quintessential Bar Woman And The Next General Secretary Of The NBA

I recall with fondness how and when I related with Joyce for the first time-sometime in July 2019. I posted on “Lawyers News” WhatsApp platform. She called me immediately and we interacted on the phone like we had known for ages. I met her in person at the Midwest Bar Forum Meeting of November 2019 in the Ancient city of Benin. I had looked forward to meeting someone of average height, like myself.

Alas! Standing before me was a ‘6+ Footer’, whom I can safely refer to as as giant. She exuded confidence and beamed with infectious smiles. She shone like the painting of MonaLisa; in her I saw beauty and brains. In fact she is a giant in every respect. She wears humility with incandescence like a second skin. Needless to dwell on her unsurpassable achievements and innovations while she was National Treasurer of the NBA since same have become public knowledge.

Res ipsa loquitur! She carries herself with candour and is so accessible. The NBA deserves a General Secretary who can stand “Tall” in collaboration with other EXCO Members in the face of attempts by enemies of rule of law to undermine the Bar and the Bench.

Mrs Joyce Oduah, FICMC is bold and courageous and she deserves our personal and collective support. Let me say this: “The NBA EXCO no go balance, if a female is not elected as the General Secretary in this dispensation” and “wetin we gain, if we no support the only female in the race for General Secretary of the NBA?”. With your support, Uhuru is achievable.
