Auta Nyada Esq., a candidate for the position of Welfare Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has expressed solidarity and support for Pius I. Awoke, a recently released NBA colleague, and Onyiba Emmanuel Chinonso, who were both detained by the Department of State Security (DSS) for an extended period.

In a heartfelt message, Nyada celebrated the release of Awoke and Chinonso, stating that their liberation is a testament to the power of unity within the legal profession. He acknowledged the hardships they endured during their detention and assured Awoke of the NBA’s unwavering support and advocacy for the protection of his rights and interests.

“As a candidate for the esteemed position of Welfare Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, I assure Mr. Awoke that he will forever have the unwavering support and solidarity of our revered Association,” Nyada declared. “We will steadfastly advocate for the protection of his rights and interests, just as we will tirelessly champion the rights and interests of all members of our noble profession.”

Nyada emphasized that the release of their colleague serves as a reminder of the importance of collective action and unity in overcoming challenges. He congratulated Awoke on his hard-won freedom and expressed hope that his experience would inspire others to continue fighting for fundamental rights and liberties.
