Human rights lawyer Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa SAN, who has been providing legal counsel to the Take It Back Movement, has strongly denied claims of a doctored image attributed to him. Adegboruwa took to social media to debunk a trending doctored image attributed to him with the quote “I regret leading this protest.”

In a statement, Adegboruwa clarified, “Fake News!!! I never said this anywhere at all. And it is not on any of the social media platforms or Channels TV. Obviously there are elements working to cause disaffection.”

He further explained his role, stating, “I could not be a protest leader because I did not start the protests. I only made an appeal to the protesters to call it off.”

The image in question appears to be a screenshot from Channels TV with Adegboruwa’s photo and the alleged quote “STOP BURNING DOWN PROPERTY STOP THE KILLINGS THIS WAS NOT WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR… PROTEST LEADER, EBUN-OLU ADEGBORUWA, SAN.” However, Adegboruwa has firmly labeled this image as fake and doctored.

As a prominent human rights lawyer, Adegboruwa has been providing legal support to various activist movements. However, he maintains that his involvement does not equate to leading the recent protests that have been marked by unfortunate incidents of violence and property damage.
