Legal practitioner Innocent M. Maji Esq has disowned his alleged appointment as Director of Legal (North Central) of the recently formed APC Continuity Movement.

In a strong disclaimer, Maji described the group as an ‘unlawful movement’ and act of ‘political rascality’.

He stated that the use of his name and designation was done without his permission or consent. Maji clarified he remains a member of the committee working to re-register the deregistered National Conscience Party with INEC. During the last elections, NCP members supported Labour Party and PDP candidates.

The lawyer emphasized having no knowledge of his purported role in the controversial pro-APC group. He warned the perpetrators to immediately remove his name, which he says tarnishes his professional reputation.

Maji denounced involvement with any movement seen as influencing election tribunals, which he describes as the ‘final hope’ of Nigerian electorates. He argues such associations unlawfully tamper with the tribunal’s independence.

By issuing the strongly-worded disclaimer, Maji aims to set the record straight and disassociate himself completely from the APC Continuity Movement.

He has called on the public to disregard any information linking him to the group.

He said, “Let justice be our precedent,” as propounded by the late founder of the National Conscience Party, Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi SAN.
