Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board have arrested a man allegedly found hiding inside a “Ghana Must-Go” bag at the residence of a married woman in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi.

The Hisbah Board, an agency under the Kebbi State Ministry of Religious Affairs, said the arrest followed a report from residents of the area who suspected that the man had entered the woman’s house for an illicit affair.
The Director of Sharia at the board, Sirajo Kamba, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi.
According to him, residents alerted Hisbah officials at about 12:15 a.m. on Monday, May 18, after noticing a man entering the married woman’s house.
“The residents suspected an illicit affair contrary to Islamic teachings, hence their decision to formally notify the authority,” Kamba said.
He said the board immediately deployed officers to investigate the report.
Kamba explained that when the officers arrived at the house, they requested permission to conduct a search, but the woman initially denied that anyone was inside.
He said the woman later allowed the officers to search the house, leading to the discovery of the suspect concealed inside a “Ghana Must-Go” bag.
The director added that further investigation revealed an alleged romantic relationship between the man and the married woman.
According to him, both suspects admitted to the allegation during interrogation.
Kamba said the suspects would be arraigned in court to face legal proceedings under Islamic law.
The incident comes days after the Kano State Hisbah Board arrested two women and a 35-year-old fish seller over an alleged attempt to engage in immoral conduct in Kano.
