The Nigerian Branch of the International Law Association (ILA) has announced a call for nominations for its 2025 Merit Awards. These prestigious awards recognize exceptional contributions to international law, celebrating practitioners, scholars, and young professionals who demonstrate outstanding achievement, leadership, and distinction in the field.

The awards are categorized as follows:

  1. Outstanding Achievement Medal
  2. Distinguished Service Award (restricted to ILA-NG members)
  3. ILA Book Prize
  4. Emerging Star Award for an outstanding young professional

Submission Details:

  • Nomination Deadline: March 7, 2025
  • Eligible candidates can self-nominate or be nominated by others.
  • Submissions should include a nomination letter and a detailed CV specifying the award category and justifying the nominee’s qualifications.
  • All entries must be sent to the Chairperson of the Conference Organizing Committee at conference@ila-nigeria.org.ng.

The awards will be presented during the 8th Annual Conference of ILA-Nigeria, scheduled for April 9–10, 2025, at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.
