*As Tweeps Taunt Tinubu For Saying El-Rufai ‘Turned A Rotten Situation To Bad One’

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 general election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has expressed confidence in winning the presidential poll.

The ex-governor of Lagos State spoke during the Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit in Kaduna State on Saturday.

He also lauded the Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, noting that Nigeria needed a thinker like the governor.

Tinubu said, “I am confidently telling you that I will win with your support and I know you are very supportive of me. I know that I am at home here in Kaduna

“We will continue to prioritise the restoration of peace and security across all our territories. I am confident. Under my leadership, the government will place emphasis on the use of counterinsurgency doctrine as strategy by our military. We will fight it together.’’.

He assured that under his watch as president no inch of the country would be conceded to terrorists and robbers.

He added, “We will continue to train and equip our gallant forces and security personnel with resources, equipment and technology necessary to eliminate crime in our society. Nigeria will succeed and grow to prosperity. I assure you. I will champion an efficient government that will eliminate revenue leakages across federal areas leveraging technology…”

The APC presidential candidate also begged El-Rufai to remain in the country in 2023 to work with him.

He said, “If you leave me on the podium, I will continue to campaign here. Don’t run away from Nigeria in 2023 because we need your creativity at this critical time.’’

Responding, El-Rufai who returned to the podium, replied, “I promise to stay even on a part-time basis.”

Explaining how he would fix the economy, Tinubu stated, “We will privatise the ease of doing business and ensure steady power supply and distribution.

“Nigeria will succeed and move on to prosperity. I will assemble intelligent Nigerians both men and women, for the progress of our country. We will champion an effective government that will block revenue leakages for proper accountability.’’

Social media users have criticised Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), over his recent comment in Kaduna State.

Although the presidential candidate later corrected the gaffe, social media users, especially those supporting his opponents, latched on to that.

“I am openly begging Governor El Rufai not to run away for additional Degrees like PhD or others. There are educated derelicts. We are not going to let you run away. Your vision, creativity and resilience in turning a ‘rotten situation to a bad one’ are necessary at this critical time and that is why we are here,” he said.

The statement, which elicited mixed reactions at the hall, has continued to generate controversy on Twitter. Below are some of such comments:

@iamadonisa said, “It must really be boring sitting there to listen to this man. It takes so many seconds to put words together. Did I hear ‘turning a rotten situation to a bad one’?”

@kennis554: “Baba is commending El rufai for turning a rotten situation to a bad one. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. We cannot have this man as our President, pls vote wisely.”
