*Indicts DPO Ugochukwu Ugbo, Others For Sabotaging  Pending Court Litigation
*Asks IGP To Intervene And Call Men To Order

A Non governmental organization under the auspices of GINALEXI Fundamental Rights Group, has asked the Inspector General of Police and Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, to call one of his men, SP. Ugochukwu Ugbo to order.

SP. Ugochukwu Ugbo, who is the Divisional Police Officer of Okpoko Divisional Headquarters, Ogbaru Local Government Area, has been accused of high handedness by using thugs to harass and intimidate one Mrs. Onyinyechi Irobi of No. 4 Isiekenesi Okpoko.

In its statement on Friday 2nd June, 2023, signed by its Chief Convener, A. G. Ogbachalu Esq and member, Rev. Uche Precious, Esq., it was noted that on Thursday, the group received disturbing Information about the use of thugs by SP Ugbo, to cause illegal and wanton destruction of properties which is a subject matter of the court in a suit No. MKP/96/23.

SP Ugbo, connived with James Nwandu (A.k.a.Onyeze), Emmanuel Gozie Nwafor and the chairman of Okpoko Youths, to invade the property knowing fully well that the matter is before the court. Accordingly, a statement released by GINALEXI states that:

Ginalexi Fundamental Rights Group swoop into action, by visiting the scene of crime, took picture evidence of the illegal destruction of properties and elicited information from the residents of No. 4 Isiekenesi Street Okpoko, including but not limited to passersby and eye witness account.

The press statement written by GINALEXI further read that:

During the cause of our interaction the facts emerged were that the property illegally destroyed without any valid order of Court is the subject matter of litigation in Suit No: MKP/96/23

That SP. Ugochukwu Ugbo (DPO Okpoko Police Station) and his team were physically present and supervised the demolition of No. 4 Isiekenesi Street Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

It was recorded that during the raid, one Mrs. Onyinyechi Irobi who is a tenant at No. 4 Isiekenesi Street Okpoko went to Okpoko Police Station to lodge a complaint; she was arrested and detained by the DPO Okpoko without any warrant of arrest shown to her.

Luckily, it took the intervention of the Assistant Commissioner of Police – Onitsha Area Command, to get Mrs. Onyinyechi Irobi released on the 27″ day of May, 2023.

Also, Mr. Emmanuel Nwafor is alleged to have been threatening fire and brimstone, and of having powers to make and unmake. He promised to further destroy the remaining part of the building any moment from now. The group further noted that  DSP Frank attached to Anti-Cult Unit of the Anambra State Police Command, Enug-Ukwu has been threatening the Chief Convener of the Fundamental Rights Group (Abuchi Goshen Ogbachalu, Esq), using the telephone line: 09026029052. In the threat call, he tells him of his having powers to make and unmake hence a text message to the PRO Anambra State Police Command.

The group there urge the Inspector General of Police to intervene in the situation and restore normalcy and calm, noting further that SP Ugochukwu be called to order.

We, the Executive Officers, therefore call on the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command to call his DC (SP. Ugochukwu Ugbo) to order and further direct him to preserve the “res” pending the outcome of the judgment in Suit No: MKP/96/23.”
