The House of Representatives Complex has been shut down by management of the National Assembly for routine fumigation exercise.
The House is to remain shut for the two- day exercise while staff are expected to stay away from the complex.
The staff are expected to resume normal duties on Monday, June 22 but it was not immediately known whether scheduled House committee functions will go ahead or not.
It could also not be ascertained whether the exercise has anything to do with COVID- 19 pandemic.
A circular to staff of the Assembly referenced NASS/HR/MSD/ClR/003/IV138 dated 17th June by Titus Jatau, a Deputy Director on behalf of the management, reads: “Approval has been granted for the 2nd quarter fumigation exercise to be carried out tomorrow Thursday, 18th and Friday. 19th June, 2020.
“In the light of the above, all staff are requested to stay away during this period of the exercise and to resume work on Monday, 22nd June, 2020.”
