Normal judicial activities are expected to dwindle at the Federal High Court across the country beginning from July 24 when the court plans to proceed on its annual vacation.

However, its divisions in Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt will be opened for cases of urgent importance and other activities.

The court’s Assistant Director (Information), Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher said, in a statement, that Justices Ahmed R. Mohammed

and O. A. Egwuatu will man the Abuja division during the vacation; Justices I. N. Oweibo and A. Aluko will sit at the Lagos division, while Justices A. T. Mohammed and S.I. Mark will serve as the vacation judge at the Port-Harcourt division.

The statement reads:

“By virtue of the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Honorable Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, announces its 2023 Annual Vacation and Roster for Vacation Judges.

“The vacation will commence from Monday, the 24th day of July 2023 to Friday, the 15th day of September, 2023.

“The court shall resume sitting on Monday, the 18th day of September, 2023.

“This is in order for Hon. judges to enjoy their well- deserved rest and to prepare for the challenges of the new legal year.

“Consequently, the litigating public will be at liberty to approach only the under listed functional courts located nearest to them – Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt.

“The vacation judges are: Hon. Justice A. R. Mohammed and Hon. Justice O.A. Egwuatu (Abuja); Hon. Justice I. N. Oweibo and Hon. Justice A. Aluko (Lagos); Hon. Justice A. T. Mohammed and Hon. Justice S.I. Mark (Port- Harcourt).

“The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Honorable Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, wishes his fellow lordships a wonderful vacation in advance”
