A Delta State court has rejected the bail application filed by lawyers representing content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as “Odogwu Asaba,” in connection with the case involving the death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.

The bail application was heard on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, according to Awele Ideal, the lawyer representing Agbro’s family.

Ideal said Ogbonna’s legal team filed the application about three weeks earlier, prompting her office to submit a response opposing his release.

She disclosed that arguments were presented before the court on Tuesday, after which the judge refused the bail request.

The ruling means Ogbonna will remain at the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre while legal proceedings continue.

Ogbonna had earlier been remanded by the court on September 4 following an application filed in connection with allegations surrounding Agbro’s death.

Agbro reportedly travelled to Asaba in June after she was invited for content-creation training. She subsequently accused Ogbonna of sexual assault and recorded a video detailing her allegations before her death.

Police arrested Ogbonna following a petition submitted by the deceased’s family. Autopsy and toxicology reports were later forwarded to investigators as part of the case file.

Ideal reaffirmed her commitment to pursuing the case, saying her office would continue providing legal and financial assistance to ensure that all relevant facts were presented before the court.

The matter is expected to proceed under the supervision of the Delta State Ministry of Justice.

Ogbonna remains presumed innocent until the allegations against him are proved before a competent court.
