The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has raised concerns over individuals impersonating its officials to break into homes.

Speaking on the matter, Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s Head of Media, stated that most of these cases are not carried out by EFCC operatives but by fraudsters attempting to discredit the agency.

Oyewale emphasized the importance of verifying the identity of individuals claiming to be EFCC officials. He urged the public to be cautious and always reach out to the commission for confirmation.

“Many of these people you see online wearing EFCC-branded outfits and carrying out raids are not our officers,” he stated. “People do this to tarnish our image, and we have issued numerous press statements to address it.”

He advised Nigerians to demand proper identification from anyone claiming to be an EFCC official and to report suspicious activities to the commission immediately.
