Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying it has brought only disaster to Nigeria in its first 6 months.

In an interview on Arise TV, Datti said the Tinubu government has failed to improve security, the economy or welfare of citizens. He accused the administration of taking no bold steps except to “shut down IReV” and “use misapplied force on weak institutions.”

The LP candidate rejected the Supreme Court judgment upholding Tinubu’s victory, calling it a “show of unreasonable force” against Nigerians. He insisted that Labour Party won the 2023 presidential polls, labeling Tinubu’s camp as “cheats” and “bullies.”

Datti reiterated that Tinubu is only interested in power for “ego, wealth and comfort,” not to develop Nigeria. He urged citizens to wake up and take control of their country.

The VP hopeful dismissed Nigeria’s improved Fitch ratings as misleading, saying official statistics do not reflect realities on the ground. He vowed to continue highlighting the administration’s failures despite losing at the Supreme Court.
