The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal has issued guidelines on conducting the business of the Court amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.

This guideline is contained in a statement made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL) dated 22nd day of May, 2020 and which was signed by the Deputy Chief Registrar of the Division.

According to the guidelines, it is now mandatory for everyone including the Justices of the Court to use face mask while in the Court.

Furthermore, the Court shall hear appeals and conduct proceedings by 9.00 in the forenoon from Mondays to Thursdays whilst other business of the Court would remain from Mondays to Fridays from 8AM-2PM except on public holidays.

In addition, the guidelines state that not more than ten (10) cases shall be fixed on the cause list for hearing on any day and besides, physical contact with the Registry of the Court is henceforth disallowed.
