The Cross River State Law Students’ Association, University of Calabar Chapter, in collaboration with Bosker Law Practice, has announced the opening of registration for the maiden edition of the Ayi-Ekpenyong Imah Moot Court Competition 2026.

The competition, themed “Advancing Excellence In Legal Advocacy,” is aimed at promoting advocacy skills, legal research, courtroom confidence and professional excellence among law undergraduates from Cross River State.

According to the organisers, registration is free and open to all law undergraduates who are indigenes of Cross River State.

The moot court competition will hold at the Faculty of Law Moot Court Complex, University of Calabar.

Under the competition schedule, submission of memorials will close on June 7, 2026, while the semifinals will take place on June 17, 2026. The finals are scheduled for June 26, 2026.

The registration deadline is June 5, 2026.

According to the organisers, applications must be submitted by teams. Each team must consist of a maximum of three undergraduate law students from the same university. Team members must be between Year 1 and Year 4, and all members must be from Cross River State.

Applicants are required to submit a cover letter indicating their interest and what the team hopes to gain from the competition. They must also provide the name, level, university, contact details and address of each team member.

The competition will feature cash prizes for outstanding participants. The winner will receive ₦250,000, while the first runner-up will receive ₦150,000. The second runner-up will receive ₦100,000.

There will also be special prizes of ₦50,000 each for Best Memorial and Best Oralist.

The organisers said the competition will also offer scholarships and other opportunities to participants, while helping to build a stronger culture of advocacy among law students.
