In a closely contested election, Cordelia U. Eke has been elected as the new Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Port Harcourt Branch.

Eke secured the top position with 255 votes, narrowly defeating her main competitor, Felicia T. Nwoke, who received 220 votes. Geoffrey O. A. Joseph finished third with 97 votes.

The election also saw other key positions being filled.

In the Vice Chairman race, John Emmanuel (Sadam) emerged victorious with 312 votes, while Chijioke Amadi received 214 votes. Obum Nwoye clinched the position of Secretary with 296 votes, edging out Elijah Briggs, who obtained 260 votes.

Dr. Modupe Babalola secured the position of Financial Secretary with 307 votes, defeating Atonye Ezekiel Hart, who received 233 votes. Francis Ibekwe Allagoa won the Assistant Secretary position with a comfortable margin, garnering 373 votes compared to E. C. Nte’s 164 votes.
