The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, Monday, enjoined judicial officials to be accountable, professional and adhere to the provisions of the Proceed of Crimes Act 2022 in their line of duty.

The CJN further charged the judicial officials to lighten the burden of the court by performing their duties efficiently and in line with global practices.

He stated this while delivering a keynote address at the opening ceremony of the hybrid national workshop on court management and administration for Chief Registrar, Head of Judicial Services Committees and others in Abuja.

The theme of the workshop was: “Nurturing high standards of performance for better service delivery”.

Represented by Justice Emmanuel Agim, the CJN further enjoined the court managers to improve relationships with judges in their respective court, saying it is paramount to success.

“Additionally, to promote fiscal prudent and effective allocation of judicial resources, proper planning, budgeting and accountability in court management and administration are the management of confiscated assets and funds in court custody.

“When managing seized assets and funds, you must be accountable, professional and adhere to the provisions of the Proceeds of Crimes Act 2022.

“Further, as court managers, your relationships with judges in your respective courts are paramount to the success. Cooperation is key; ensure that you lighten the burden of the court by performing your duties efficiently and in line with global best practices,” Ariwoola said.
