The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has extolled the supreme sacrifices of fallen heroes and veterans of the Armed Forces to keep Nigeria united and peaceful.

In a goodwill message to commemorate the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau SAN, said the association remains proud of the selfless services rendered by gallant officers and men of the military.

He noted that their unmatched bravery and patriotism continue to inspire citizens’ commitment to national service, even as he sued for unity to make their labour not be in vain.

Maikyau pledged the NBA’s unwavering support through advocacy for better welfare and equipping of troops under President Bola Tinubu’s security reforms.

He expressed confidence that with the backing of Nigerians, the military’s fight against terrorism, banditry and insurgency would end with resounding victory.

The NBA chief assured armed forces chiefs of the association’s professional support to jointly bequeath a peaceful and prosperous country to future generations.

He charged citizens to invest wholeheartedly in the entrenchment of truth, peace and justice – virtues that fallen heroes died protecting.

Maikyau concluded by praying for continuous strengthening of Nigeria’s security forces and God’s blessings upon the Federal Republic.
