Dear Colleagues,

APPOINTMENT OF PRESIDENT, CUSTOMARY COURT OF APPEAL OF THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY, ABUJA

By a letter dated 18 October 2022 and received on 20 October 2022, the Chief Judge of
the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission
of the FCT, forwarded to me the shortlist of Judges for appointment as President of the
Customary Court of Appeal of the FCT, requesting for comments on their suitability or
otherwise.

This is in line with the process for the replacement of the retired President
of the Court, the Honourable Justice Abaazi Musa Abubakar Saddeeq, FICMC.

Consequently, I invite members of the Bar to send in their comments on the suitability
or otherwise of the underlisted Judges, who are being considered for appointment as
President of the Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory.

1) Hon Justice Stanley Adekunle Lawal
2) Hon. Justice Ngozika Uwazuruonye Okaisabor (Nee Aguta)
3) Hon. Justice Istifanus Gandu
