A lawyer, C.I. Amadi, has today reported the theft of his car at the Magistrate Court Premises (Old High Court Complex) in Owerri, as confirmed by bibncollar.com.

The counsel had parked his grey-coloured 1999 Model Camry with the registration number RLU 931 AA and entered Court 18 to obtain a judgment order in his determined suit. Upon returning to retrieve an item, he discovered that his car was no longer where he had parked it just minutes earlier.
In a conversation with bibncollar.com, the counsel expressed his distress over the incident, particularly noting that his laptop, containing all his work, was also in the stolen vehicle.
This incident follows closely on the heels of a similar occurrence on November 27, 2024, when another lawyer’s Camry car was stolen from the High Court Premises in Owerri.
These two incidents have raised serious concerns about the security of all court premises in Imo State. Lawyers reacting to the incident have attributed it to the porous nature of the court premises throughout the state, expressing grave concern that such incidents may continue unchecked due to the current judicial vacancy in the state.
