The National Youth Service Corps-herein after referred to as NYSC- Federal Capital Territory-herein after referred to as FCT- State Secretariat, continues to give us fake hope since the day of the Passing–Out Parade-herein after referred to as POP- that we would be called upon two weeks after the award was respectively collected from us by the State Secretariat in order for the FCT Minister to append his signature on the award, though, the award was respectively presented to us with FCT Minister’s official hand shake by his representative before the Nigerian public who were fooled to believe that we have been issued the awards unknown that it was only an arrangement of deception. Most painfully, not only the public was fooled and deceived, we the awardees were also fooled and deceived by the NYSC. It was later that we came to realize that that has been the attitude of the NYSC to present awards to awardees in public but the award is useless as NYSC would still collect it back until only God knows when. We are indeed not happy that this style has caught up with us Batch C, 2014 too. So, we hope this kind of fooling and deceiving the public and the awardees would stop and stop forever! The reason for this kind of delay in releasing the award is always a surprise: is the money that the FCT Minister would offer to the awardees the problem-despite the fact that we are just five (5) in numbers? Even some of us the awardees even say, okay, since the government refuses to give us the award certificate because of money, then, the FCT Minister should keep the money and release the award while we believe strongly that with the award certificate, much money would be earned, in God Almighty we trust! Furthermore, we the awardees do not want to become M.K.O. Abiola or Chief Gani Fawehinmi in the hands of the NYSC and the FCT Minister. We would really like to enjoy the fruit of our efforts in this world before we die- even though, God is already rewarding us for our services, sacrifices, respect, feeling, care, etc. for the humanity. We went through a lot of sacrifices in order to conquer. Anyone who carries out the personal project would testify that achieving and to have conquered was not an easy task. It took God’s intervention. As youths of this nation, believing that we are not too young to carry out marvelous achievement and greatness, we dedicated our time, health, enjoyment, life etc. towards the services to God through humanity. Yet, we are very surprised at the way and manner our own government is treating us! Finally, as we appeal to the NYSC and the FCT Minister for the release of our award certificate and the accruing benefits with immediate effect, we hereby call on the media, international communities, His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, the Minister, Youth and Sports, Federal Republic of Nigeria and the general public to intervene in this matter. We also seek God Almighty to take over our affairs! e-mail: hameed_ajibola@yahoo.com]]>
