Since yesterday, the internet has been buzzing with news of a private correspondence between two Senior Advocates of Nigeria wherein, one wrote for the argument that the leader of the NBA should be a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
 
This has generated a lot of controversy both online and offline and heated up the polity in the run – up to the NBA 2020 Elections and the result have always been to increase the widening gap between the lawyers who are Senior Advocates and those who are not.
 
Of course, many leaders have come openly to share their comments and remarks about the ongoing debate, but most of these comments failed to focus on the need for the legal profession to work in unity rather than remain in disunity. Some of the comments even from SANs tend to deride the person of the most respected learned silk who authored the leaked letter That is why I must appreciate the comments of Deacon Dele Adesina SAN, who has come out to note that the Association must remain united, if it must actualize its role as a Watch Dog in our Nation.
 
According to Deacon Dele Adesina, who is a firm believer in the objectives of the NBA, we are at a time when unity and strategic collaborations between all members of the Bar is needed urgently and the Bar must remain one for all.
 
This is one reason why I support Dele Adesina for President of the Nigerian Bar Association. He seeks to unite us rather than divide us.
 
Only a candidate with maturity, capacity, experience and vision should be given the mandate to lead the Bar at this critical time, having carefully interogated the profile of the three candidates, I have no hesitation AT ALL in coming to the very informed conclusion that Dele Adesina SAN is the best candidate by far.
