Speaking with the Newsmen Mr Marcel Oro said that he looked forward to pursuing vigorously the cause of justice in the new legal year. “We just came from vacation so we are refreshed, we are renewed and we are more ready to ensure that justice is done or seen to be done by all. “We look forward to robust litigation, we look forward to improvement in the administration of justice, we look forward to a better Nigeria that will pull out of recession,” Oro said. Another lawyer, Esther Uzoma, speaking against the background of ongoing efforts at reforming the justice sector, said that her expectation was that people would get justice quickly so that they do not resort to self-help. “We are well rested, the vacation judges were excellent they sat throughout and yes, we are ready to take it up, again. “I expect more clients, I expect speedier justice delivery and all in all I wish us all the best.” On her part, Ms Florence Nwachukwu, who is also a lawyer, said that she was looking forward to a more transparent judiciary in the new legal year where there would be checks and balances in addition to accountability. Nwachukwu also stressed the need for increased remuneration of the junior lawyers and expressed optimism that the welfare of lawyers would improve in the course of the new legal year. The Federal High Court, Abuja, the new legal year will begin with a special court session on Sept. 12. This will be followed by the 33rd edition of the Federal High Court Judges Conference on Sept. 13 and a valedictory court session for the outgoing Chief Judge of the court, Justice Ibrahim Auta on Sept. 19.]]>
