Let’s get on with life now.” The pair’s respective softer stances marked a shift from the angry spat that broke out between the boxer and his estranged wife last week, when they announced their split in a series of increasingly furious tweets. Mr Khan then went on a series of nights out in Dubai, but tweeted this morning: “I partied in Dubai with friends to get my wife angry. Shouldn’t have. That’s not like me and I’ll prove that.” Many people welcomed the resolution to the spat with praise, but others were more critical, some suggesting that the pairâs life was like reality TV. One Twitter user, who goes by the name Valero, said: âOh really? Well that was a surprise, when is the next episode of Keeping up with Khans?â Zahid Khanzada wrote online: âIt was nothing but a publicity stunt,â while another internet user suggested next time the pair should âuse Whatsappâ. âYou have both had your 10 minutes of fame,â one social media user wrote, terming whole exchange âcringeworthyâ. Anthony Joshua brushed aside the affair claims when they emerged last week, writing online: “Bantz aside, I hope you guys can resolve your situation or this is a hack as we have never even met! Plus I like my women BBW.” Mr Khan, 30, wrote last Friday: âSo me and the wife Faryal have agreed to split. I’m currently in Dubai. Wish her all the best.â He then posted another tweet, including Mr Joshuaâs handle, which read: âFaryal moved on quick. Always mentioned to me how much she wanted to be with another guy, from all people another boxer.â Mr Khan added: âLol moved up in the weight classes lol. Trust me I ain’t the jealous type. No need to send me pictures of the men your talking to.â âLeft my family and friends for this Faryal. I’m not hurt but another fighter. I’m making it public. You getting the divorce.â He signed off by referencing the undefeated Mr Joshua again, saying: âMans like Joshua can have my left overs!â But Ms Makhdoom, who is a model and who has a child with Mr Khan, angrily hit back on Twitter, telling her followers: âI’m sorry to all the fans & family hurt by this. But amir did not need to do stupid tweets accusing others when he’s in the wrong.â âI think he just needs some attention because boxing hasn’t been going well for him so he’s just been acting up.â A Khan family source confirmed that the pair had split last week: âAmir and Faryal have split up. It’s over. “There have been problems in the relationship for a long time and they were headed for a separation. It’s the best outcome.â It was not made clear today whether the couple have reconciled their differences and ended their split.
