The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has said its ongoing recruitment exercise into four federal paramilitary agencies has entered its final stage and is expected to be concluded within four weeks.

The exercise covers recruitment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Correctional Service and Federal Fire Service.

The latest position of the Board follows months of recruitment activities which began with online applications in 2025 and progressed through a Computer-Based Test conducted in November 2025, shortlisting, physical screening and other verification exercises.

In its latest update dated August 21, 2026, the Board said the recruitment process had reached its concluding stages and assured applicants that successful candidates would be notified through the official recruitment platform once the process was completed.

Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (retd.), said the large number of applications received from across the country made it necessary for the Board to conduct the process carefully rather than rush to announce final selections.

According to him, the exercise would be concluded in accordance with the principles of justice, merit, federal character, due process and the operational requirements of the four services.

“The recruitment process has taken place, and it has now reached its last stages, which will be completed within four weeks,” the Board said.

Once the process is completed, successful applicants are expected to receive information through the CDCFIB recruitment platform.

The Board thanked candidates for their patience and said the time being taken was necessary to ensure that the selection process remained comprehensive, transparent and credible.

Earlier in the recruitment process, applicants who participated in the November 2025 CBT were directed to check their shortlisting status between June 15 and June 20, 2026.

Shortlisted candidates were required to log in with the application numbers generated during their initial registration, upload relevant credentials and choose preferred dates and venues for the next stage of screening.

That June notice subsequently led into physical and medical screening exercises and should not be confused with a fresh August announcement reopening the shortlisting stage.

The Board has repeatedly warned applicants that the entire recruitment exercise is free and that no candidate should pay any individual, agent, organisation or group claiming to have influence over shortlisting, screening venues, document verification or final selection.

It has also warned candidates against fake recruitment announcements, fraudulent links and unauthorised persons claiming to represent the Board.

Earlier in August, CDCFIB specifically disowned a purported notice claiming that candidates could check a new recruitment status from August 3, describing the information as false and urging applicants to rely exclusively on its official communication channels.

The Board said its objective remained to complete the recruitment without compromising merit, federal character, due process or the manpower requirements of the NSCDC, Immigration Service, Correctional Service and Federal Fire Service.

Successful candidates are therefore expected to await the conclusion of the final selection process and monitor the official CDCFIB recruitment platform for further instructions.

Note: The June 15–20 dates contained in the material you sent relate to an earlier June stage of the recruitment, not a new August 28 screening announcement. The latest August update says the exercise has already reached its final stages.
