Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in the state, across Nigeria, and around the world on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, calling on citizens to embrace reflection, compassion, and peaceful coexistence.

In a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the governor prayed that Almighty Allah grants Muslims strength, serenity, and abundant blessings as they observe the fast.

He described Ramadan as a sacred pillar of faith that refines the soul and elevates the spirit.

Governor Sani noted that beyond abstinence from food and drink, the holy month serves as a “school of character and a sanctuary for the heart,” urging believers to deepen their devotion, practise charity, and strengthen bonds of brotherhood.

As part of activities marking the sacred season alongside the Christian observance of Lent, the governor approved the payment of fines and settlement of compensation for over 90 convicts sentenced for minor offences across the state.

According to the statement, the intervention is aimed at providing relief to deserving inmates, promoting reconciliation, and offering renewed purpose and second chances in line with the moral values symbolised by both holy seasons.

Governor Sani urged the beneficiaries to embrace peace, seek forgiveness where necessary, and commit to lives of integrity, obedience to the rule of law, and service to God and society.

He also encouraged residents to extend kindness to the vulnerable by sharing meals and resources, stressing that the season should reaffirm the dignity of every person and the shared humanity that binds society together.

The governor appealed to citizens of all faiths to continue praying for sustained peace and harmony across Kaduna State, emphasising that the state’s diversity remains its strength and that its people share a common destiny.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to consolidating peace, revitalising the economy, and promoting sustainable prosperity, noting that the gesture also supports rehabilitation, social reintegration, and communal harmony throughout Kaduna State.
