President Bola Ahmed Tinubu briefly stumbled on Tuesday during a ceremonial march-past at the parade ground in Türkiye, drawing momentary attention before the programme continued uninterrupted.

The incident occurred as the Nigerian President joined the guard of honour, and was widely circulated on social media by Nefes Gazetesi (@nefesgazete)

Tinubu’s visit aims to consolidate the longstanding cordial relations between Nigeria and Türkiye, while exploring new avenues for cooperation to strengthen a mutually beneficial partnership.

During the visit, he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on trade, security, investment, and regional cooperation. Several memoranda of understanding are also expected to be signed between the two nations.

A business forum will take place on the sidelines of the visit, connecting Nigerian and Turkish investors and opening new opportunities for economic growth.

Senior Nigerian officials who received the President at his hotel include Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun; Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake; and Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd).
