Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has shared a series of emotional Instagram Stories accusing her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of using his influence to have her elder siblings arrested and to coerce her into returning home for a drug rehabilitation program. The 24-year-old star, tearfully appealing for public help, described the ordeal as a war threatening her family’s safety and her children’s future.

In posts shared earlier today, Daniels cried for help, saying, “Someone please help me! I feel like I’m losing my mind.” She alleged that Nwoko, 64, had her big brother and big sister detained at Ogombo Police Station in Lagos, with her baby sister at risk of the same fate unless she complies. She wrote, “My big brother and big sister have been arrested. My baby sister might be arrested soon as well until I return and, according to him, return to rehab,” accompanied by heartbroken emojis.

Daniels also accused Nwoko of publicly branding her a drug addict and a criminal. “You said I’m a drug addict, me I use am rob body sir! What other name can you call me? A prostitute? But I will speak on that one day and tell the world of your involvement with everything,” she wrote, promising to expose his role in her struggles. She recounted a violent arrest scene, saying, “Imagine the Nigerian police beating up my brother like a criminal. What exactly was the violent arrest for? Ned, you have power, connections and money right? Wild for you to think I have none.” She warned of her capacity for retaliation, adding, “What I wouldn’t want to do to you is let the man I once saw as an iroko fall before everyone because you know your little girl Gina is capable of that.”

The actress expressed resentment toward the rehabilitation program, insisting she was trying to be the bigger person despite her youth and pain. “I’m trying, I’m really trying to be the bigger person by not saying or doing anything whereas I’m young, petty, and immature. So I can act like a 24-year-old child and speak my pain. Leave my family alone, Ned!” She lamented the unraveling of their life together, questioning, “A big shame that the beautiful but short legacy we built is about to be ridiculed by the whole world. Must things go completely south if partners are no longer interested?” She also worried about their three young sons, Munir (2020), Khalifa (2021), and their third child (2023), saying, “I just hate this feeling of wishing my boys’ father’s name remains a legacy. You know why? Boys don’t grow to change their surnames.” She concluded, “Leave my family alone Pa Ned, leave me alone.”

Daniels’ elder brother, known on Instagram as Sir.Sammywest or Sweezy, confirmed the arrests from detention, posting, “Dem say dem na Ned send dem. Currently at Ogombo station.” He denied the addiction allegations against his sister and accused Nwoko of hypocrisy, claiming that Nwoko’s late son died in the United Kingdom from heart failure and seizures due to excessive drug intake. He warned that the media would hear the full story if the accusations continued.

The family’s outrage was further amplified by Regina’s mother, Nollywood actress Rita Daniels, in a video shared on Sweezy’s Instagram. Holding a phone and visibly angry, she accused Nwoko of betrayal and power abuse, saying, “You wanted someone with a high star to boost your fallen star. If you think you can bite the finger that fed you, you’ll go down. My daughter supported your senatorial election with $50,000. We are covering you up and making you feel like an Odogwu. You’re mad.” Sweezy captioned the clip, “Dey stress my mama no be your fault. We all go mad. I’ve never seen where violence is used to make peace. Pride wan kill you. Bring your ego down and say sorry.”

Reports suggest the arrests stem from a heated dispute at Nwoko’s residence involving Daniels, his brother, and other family members, though authorities have not confirmed details. This follows a viral video last week showing Daniels in tears, fainting during a confrontation, and saying, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.” The footage has fueled speculation of domestic abuse.

Nwoko, a Delta North Senator, lawyer, and philanthropist on his sixth marriage, has not directly addressed the arrest allegations. In a statement titled “Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage And Rampage In My House And In My Absence,” he described Daniels’ actions as violent and erratic, linking them to substance abuse. He claimed she had started rehab and urged her to continue at facilities in Asokoro, Abuja, or Jordan, citing concerns for her safety and the wellbeing of their children.

Daniels rose to fame as a child star in films like Plantain Boy before her 2019 marriage to Nwoko at age 18 in a lavish ceremony. Nwoko, father to five children from prior unions, and Daniels cultivated an image of opulent family unity on social media. Their union, once celebrated, now faces public scrutiny, with Daniels’ pleas highlighting a desperate attempt to protect her family and legacy.
