May Yul-Edochie, popularly known as Queen May and estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has issued cease-and-desist notices to her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, and a United States-based woman, Yinka Omolola Theisen, over alleged cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and defamation.

Through her legal representatives, Graylaw Partners, Queen May alleged that both individuals made several damaging online publications against her on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook, causing harm to her reputation and business interests.

In separate letters addressed to Ugwuonye and Theisen, her lawyers demanded that they immediately cease making such publications, withdraw existing posts, issue public apologies, and publish retractions across all platforms where the statements were made.

Queen May is also seeking financial compensation of N1 billion from Ugwuonye and N500 million from Theisen. Her legal team alleged that Ugwuonye’s conduct exposed her to further harm, while Theisen amplified harmful narratives online and encouraged others to circulate them, worsening the reputational damage.

The letters set a 48-hour deadline for compliance, warning that failure to act would compel Queen May to initiate civil and criminal proceedings to protect her rights and reputation.

“The publications complained of are malicious, injurious, and unacceptable. Our client has suffered severe and irreparable harm as a result, and she will not stand by and allow this misconduct to continue,” part of the letter stated.

Her lawyers said the legal action aims not only to seek redress for past harm but also to safeguard Queen May’s legal rights, privacy, and professional standing going forward.
