The Federal High Court has announced that its 2025 annual vacation will commence on Monday, July 28, and run through Monday, September 16. Court activities are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, September 17.

This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja by the court’s Director of Information, Mrs Catherine Oby Christopher.

According to the statement, during the vacation period, only the core divisions of the court—Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt—will remain open to handle cases of extreme urgency.

“Consequently, the litigating public will be at liberty to approach only the above-listed courts located nearest to them,” the statement read.

The following judges have been assigned to sit during the vacation period:

  • Abuja Division: Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice M. S. Liman
  • Lagos Division: Justice Deinde I. Dipeolu and Justice Musa Kakaki
  • Port Harcourt Division: Justice P. M. Ayua and Justice A. T. Mohammed

The annual vacation is in accordance with the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019.

Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, extended his best wishes to his colleagues for a restful and pleasant vacation.
