Seliat Raji, the sister of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ahmed Raji, has been released by her kidnappers after spending six days in captivity.

The gunmen had invaded her residence in Iseyin, Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, on Thursday night, killing a security guard who attempted to resist their operation.

The Baale Koso of Iseyinland, High Chief Sikiru Adeniji, confirmed Seliat Raji’s release on Tuesday. According to Chief Adeniji, who is also the victim’s husband, she regained her freedom around 2:00 am after the payment of an undisclosed ransom.

“Yes. They have released her after six days. She spent six days with them. They released her around 2:00 am today,” Chief Adeniji stated. While confirming that a ransom was paid, he declined to disclose the amount, stating, “On the ransom, yes, but I don’t want to say anything about the ransom.”

Chief Adeniji further revealed that Seliat Raji is currently at home but will soon be taken to a hospital for a medical check-up to ensure her well-being following the traumatic experience.
