Arise News Channel has announced that Anthony Kila, who had appeared several times on the network as a freelance political analyst, will no longer feature on its platforms following allegations that he falsified his academic credentials.

The decision was contained in a disclaimer issued by the network’s Editorial Board titled, “Investigation: Anthony Kila’s ‘Degrees’.”

Arise News said the action followed an investigative report by Premium Times which raised questions about Kila’s academic qualifications.

According to the network, it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to seek his response to the allegations, but he requested more time to respond.

“He has not responded 10 days after,” the Editorial Board stated, adding that “the allegations have gotten worse.”

The network said that, in the circumstances, it could no longer continue to feature Kila as a political analyst.

“In the circumstances, we find that his contributions to the Arise News Channel are no longer tenable,” the statement said.

Arise News stressed that it was unaware of the allegations at the time Kila appeared on its programmes, adding that the organisation takes issues of credibility and integrity seriously.

It said it had taken note of the findings contained in the investigation and decided that Kila would no longer appear on any of its networks, with immediate effect.

“Arise News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform, and as we take matters of credibility and integrity extremely seriously, we have noted the findings of the Premium Times investigation,” the network stated.

It added that Kila “will not be appearing on our networks at any time now or in the future — effective immediately.”

The allegations against Kila remain allegations, and the statement indicated that he had not responded to Arise News as of the time the disclaimer was issued.
